 About Me

Holly Thomas is a multi-faceted artist living in Southwest Virginia, near Abingdon. For Forty years, she focused on Historic Restoration, decorative painting and mural work, helping clients create personal and enjoyable interiors. She and her husband Jim were part of the restoration team which won 1991 Historical Restoration of the Year Award for Southern Living magazine, and many Regional publications. They were also part of the effort to restore the historic Lincoln Theater in Marion, VA.

After retiring from full-time decorative painting, she began a more personal journey into art, founding a local art outreach charity named Theo's Pocket which brings art to those who don't normally participate in creative endeavors due to mental health issues or physical limitations. This charity was recognized personally by Virginia's First Lady, Suzanne Youngkin, for work in the Southwest Virginia area.

Holly strives to bring a sense of magic and discovery to her work, creating mosaics, paintings and playful comic art geared towards the mental health community. She has a studio located at William King Regional Arts Center in Abingdon. Most recently, she is beginning a visual exploration into ethereal and tonalist landscapes and figure work, as she feels they embody a journey of the soul.
